Hi,

The Old Testament is instruction until the Messiah (Christ) would come.

With the coming of Jesus the Christ His death is the death to the Physical realm including sin. With our sin dead, as we identify with the death of Jesus on the cross. We Receive the Holy Spirit made available through the Resurrection of Jesus.

The Resurrected Jesus currently Breathes Baptizes all Christians with the Holy Spirit.

The difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament is that the Old Testament is instruction from God to mankind until God Himself the Holy Spirit would come, (after the removal of Sin) and instruct Christians in an individual (Grace) way.

The Old Testament is still valid instruction because it always has and always will teach us about God as God never changes who He is.

The Old Testament is Law (Conformity).

The New Testament is Grace (Individuality), available because the Holy Spirit is given to each Believing Individual.

I hope this helps explain it.

God Bless you,
David
